Warehouse Worker/Production Utility

Responsible for accurate and efficient pulling, packing and manifesting of orders. This position supports receiving and inventory control and may have other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This position will also provide support to the various production areas within the facility. General labor function to include the physical movement of materials from one area to another, support of receiving and shipping of material or components in support of direct production activities.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Warehouse experience preferred.
  • Possess basic knowledge of English and math and ability to read.
  • Proficient in use of computer and data based systems preferred
  • General understanding of policies and procedures within a regulated environment
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and efficiently under minimal supervision • Heavy lifting, walking and standing with frequent squatting, stooping, kneeling, bending and twisting at waist with occasional climbing on ladder.
  • Prior experience in a lean environment preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Key Duties

  • Complete, correct, and/or file paperwork as required.
  • Monitor pulling, packing, and manifesting of orders to identify and correct errors as well as retrain to avoid repetition of errors.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff in order to resolve any order problems or potential problems.

  • Remain at facility until all orders for the day have been completed and provide assistance to employees to complete orders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a stock and inventory of shipping supplies and produce an order when deficiencies are found.
  • Gather and scan products, reaching up to but not limited to 105 inches high.
  • Pack and arrange products onto pallets or into varied package sizes, working at table heights ranging from 30 inches to 34 inches.
  • Accurately counting for both day to day functions and cycle counts as necessary
  • Fill out forms as needed, producing neat handwriting and legible signature.
  • Check own work and that of others as assigned for quality and safety performance, completing any additional steps to prepare/finalize order for shipment.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and efficiently with little supervision, communicating verbally or in writing any discrepancies as needed.
  • Obtain, stack and place product on shelves, load/unload courier trucks or assist in warehouse as needed.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist or shoulder height on a regular basis.
  • Walk and stand up to six (6) hours at a time, up to 12 hours a day, with frequent squatting, stooping, kneeling, bending and twisting at waist with occasional climbing on foot stool.
  • Push or pull products on a cart, weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Push pallet jack with weight up to 2000 lbs.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of packaging materials, shipping cartons, etc.
  • Maintain department and work area to 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Listen to and follow written and verbal instructions given in the English language.
  • Accurately and legibly complete company and carrier documentation.
  • Report any actual or potential safety hazards to management.
  • Be an active participant in continuous improvement activities
  • Read, understand and utilize RF scanners, computers and tablets.
  • Complete work as dictated by customer needs beyond normal shift hours, willingness to volunteer for other areas/shifts.
