Overview: Entry Level
The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager with day-to-day purchasing and creation of PO’s ensuring that enough product is on hand to fulfill customer orders on time while keeping inventory levels down to a minimum to preserve capital. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for setting up new products into the system, updating discontinued products and all around inventory control.
The ideal candidate must be able perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision, interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers, work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments and work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Requirements: Import purchasing experience, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook High school diploma or equivalent Excellent Communication Skills Attention to details and a strong commitment Salary range is commensurate with experience.
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop and bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
