Outside Sales Representative

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for implementing the Company’s sales strategy through prospecting new clients, making sales calls, negotiating new sales contracts and maximizing sales potential with existing customers.  He or she also evaluates and provides analysis to management with recommendations for new market opportunities. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develops and establishes sales strategies and performance plans as well as coordinating hand off of projects and sales proposal elements to internal staff.
  • Ensures execution of the developed sales strategies, plans and advertising or promotional programs.
  • Maintain contact with key markets by visiting and investigating the operations and local conditions.
  • Ensures activities are in accordance with the developed sales objectives.
  • Carefully monitors expenditures to make sure funds are appropriately allocated between expenses and strategic positioning.
  • Resolve customer service concerns as requested. 

Placement Criteria

Minimum of a Bachelor’s or four (4) year degree in Business, Advertising or a related discipline with 6 years of direct or related experience in a similar field, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience preferred.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the fields of sales, marketing, branding, corporate identity, rewards and recognition.

Knowledgeable regarding Microsoft Office, have proficient computer skills, display adaptability in learning the use of company specific software and display comprehension of fundamental computer practices and database management.

Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material and ability to handle multiple, competing and changing priorities; ability to perform effectively without direct supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines.

Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally, and provide an exceptional customer experience, both internally and externally at all times. 

Will be expected to exhibit exemplary customer service skills, both with external customers, vendors, visitors, co-workers, and management staff. Their written and verbal communication skills should be concise and effective, they should aspire to excellence in both work and customer service, they should show courtesy to all they encounter while representing the Company. They are also expected to maintain an air of professionalism in their interpersonal relationships and personal grooming, exercise confidentiality concerning the affairs of the business, exhibit a willingness to learn, willingness to problem solve and willingness to step in to help others, and openly and actively participates in the direction of our Company.
